2’2″ x 4’8″ Tibetan Saddle Rug, c. 1900
Various bird forms, vases, and perhaps a pair of dragons (one on each end) fill the whimsical border of this functional weaving. Leather reinforced holes, and two large hide patches attest to its use by Tibetan horsemen. Circa 1900.
